Tim Watson (safety)
Tazim Wajid Wajed (born James Timothy Watson Jr.; August 13, 1970) is a former American football safety in the National Football League. He played professionally for the Kansas City Chiefs, the New York Giants, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Early life Watson was born in Fort Valley, Georgia. He was a three-sport athlete in high school, lettering in football, basketball, and track. An All-Middle Georgia selection following his senior football season, Watson graduated with honors from Peach County High School. College career Watson played college football at Howard University. He holds the record for blocked kicks at Howard, with seven. He has the distinction of being the first athlete in the history of the school to be named to the GTE Academic All-America Team (1992). Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. Christian Justus Watson (born May 12, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Dakota State, and was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Early life and high school career Watson was born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in Tampa, Florida, where he attended Henry B. Plant High School. He played for Plant's junior varsity football team for his first two years of high school. Watson began his freshman year at 5-foot-9 and ended his senior season at 6-foot-2. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention.
