Tim Neesham
Timothy ("Tim") Paul Neesham (born 20 October 1979 in Fremantle, Western Australia) is an Australian water polo player. Neesham was part of Australia's Olympic squad for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He was also a member of the Australian squad that finished 10th at the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka and placed second at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. The Commonwealth Water Polo Championships are held in conjunction with the Commonwealth Games, although they are no longer included in the Commonwealth Games programme. The 2002 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XVII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Manchester 2002 were held in Manchester, England, from 25 July to 4 August, 2002.
