Tim Lyons
Timothy Lyons (1935 – 10 July 1984) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He played at club level with Cordal and Castleislands Desmonds and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior football team. Career Born near Castleisland, County Kerry, Lyons first came to Gaelic football prominence as a schoolboy with St Brendan's College in Killarney when his prowess saw him selected for the Munster Colleges' team in 1952-53. His subsequent studies at University College Dublin resulted in him winning three Sigerson Cup titles, while he also earned inclusion on the Combined Universities team. Lyons first appeared on the inter-county scene with the Kerry minor team in 1953, before making his senior debut in 1956. He was a regular on the team for much of the following decade and won his first All-Ireland Championship title in 1959 before claiming a second winners' medal in 1962. Munster Senior Football Championship
The Munster Senior Football Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship and shortened to Munster SFC, is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year, bar one, since the 1888 championship. The final, currently held on the fourth Saturday in June, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the Munster Cup. The championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. The Munster Championship is an integral part of the wider GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship. The 1963 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 77th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 1963 and ended on 22 September 1963. As of 2018, it remains the last All Ireland Senior Football Championship season to be completed without any draws. Kilkenny dropped from the championship until 1975. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 22 September 1963, Dublin won the championship following a 1-9 to 0-10 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. The 1958 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was won by Dublin, who beat Derry in the final. The championship, the premier competition in Gaelic football, is a series of games organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association and played during the summer and early autumn.
