Tim Lynch
Timothy Lynch (born June 3, 1993) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. Career Lynch attended William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi to play college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. After Lynch was not selected in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, he received contract offers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds, but opted to return to Southern Miss for his senior season. As a senior, Lynch batted .365 with a 1.045 on-base plus slugging. He was named to the All-Conference USA team and the All-Tournament Team for the 2016 Conference USA baseball tournament. He was also named a third team All-American. The New York Yankees selected Lynch in the ninth round, with the 278th overall selection, of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. 2016 Major League Baseball Draft
The 2016 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft began on June 9, 2016, to assign amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order is the reverse order of the 2015 MLB season standings. In addition, compensation picks will be distributed for players who did not sign from the 2015 MLB Draft. Florida State League
The Florida State League (FSL) is a Minor League Baseball league based in the state of Florida. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues.
