Timothy Charles Lewis (born 26 October 1967) is a British basketball coach.. He was formerly the head coach for the Thailand men's national basketball team and Assistant coach to the Great Britain 2012 Olympic Team. Coaching career Early career Lewis began coaching in 1990s before serving as Director of Coaching for the Sevenoaks Suns between 2004 and 2007. He then spent two years coaching the now-defunct Essex Pirates before spending the 2011–12 season as the Director of Basketball at the Sheffield Sharks. Great Britain national teams Between 2006 and 2012, Lewis served as the head coach of the Great Britain U20 national team and as an assistant with the Great Britain senior national team. Return to professional basketball In 2012–13, he was head coach of Weissenhorn Youngstars, and in 2013–14, he was head coach of the Hitachi Sunrockers. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011. The men's basketball tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the MABA Stadium from 20 to 26 August. 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge
The 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge was the 6th FIBA Asia Challenge, an international basketball tournament of FIBA Asia which was hosted by Iran from 9–18 September 2016. This tournament served as the first step in determining the process of the qualifiers for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup which will feature teams from both FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania for the first time. Iran are the defending champion from 2014. The top five teams earned their respective sub-confederations an extra berth for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup which is formerly named as the FIBA Asia Championship. 2016 SEABA Cup
The 2016 SEABA Cup was the qualifying event in the SEABA for the 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge. The fifth edition of the games took place from 22 May to 28 May 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. Automatically, only one spot was allotted for SEABA but due to the Philippines' runner-up finish in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, the subzone was awarded another slot, thus SEABA had two spots which was contested by five SEABA teams. The won their second tournament title by defeating the hosts in the championship match, 97-80. However, both teams were already qualified to the main tournament as of 25 May due to their top two finish in the elimination round. The Raptors 905 are a Canadian professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Mississauga, Ontario, and are affiliated with the Toronto Raptors.
