Tim Goss
Tim Goss (born 28 February 1963), is a British motor racing engineer, and former technical director of the McLaren Formula One team. Goss graduated from Imperial College London, where he also completed postgraduate studies specialising in ignition of turbocharged engines. Goss then joined Cosworth in 1986. Goss joined McLaren in 1990, becoming the engineer in charge of engine installation design. He was then appointed assistant race engineer to Mika Häkkinen, and then became chief test team engineer. After working as head of vehicle dynamics, he then worked as chief powertrain engineer – a role in which he oversaw the introduction of the sport’s first-ever seamless-shift gearbox in 2005. In 2005 he was appointed Chief Engineer for the McLaren MP4-21 and led the engineering design team of the Adrian Newey designed 2006 car. MP4-20
The McLaren MP4-20 is a Formula One racing car that was built by McLaren for the 2005 Formula One season. The chassis was designed by Adrian Newey, Paddy Lowe, Pat Fry, Mike Coughlan and Peter Prodromou with Mario Illien designing the bespoke Ilmor engine. The car was driven by Kimi Räikkönen and Juan Pablo Montoya. The MP4-20 was the last McLaren car to be powered by Mercedes-Benz under the Ilmor partnership since the 1995 season. Livery McLaren-Mercedes went into 2005 with renewed major sponsorships such as West, Mobil 1, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Siemens, Hugo Boss, Sun Microsystems, AT&T, Schüco and Henkel Corporation. James Key (Formula One)
James Key (born 14 January 1972) is a British engineer who works in Formula One as executive technical director for McLaren. Education James Key studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. Lotus Engineering sponsored him to his degree in 1996. Formula One career Key joined Jordan Grand Prix in 1998 spending several years as a data engineer, then became race engineer for Takuma Sato. Following a year in the Wind Tunnel he transferred to the Vehicle Dynamics department, eventually becoming the department head during the team's final few seasons as Jordan Grand Prix. Shortly after the team's ownership transferred to MF1 Racing, he became Technical Director during the 2005 following a brief period as Technical Co-ordinator.
