Tim Duckworth (decathlete)
Tim Duckworth (born June 18, 1996) is an American-born decathlete, born to British parents, who competes internationally for Great Britain. He was the 2018 US Collegiate heptathlon Champion indoors where he set a British national indoor record and also he is the NCAA Decathlon Champion outdoors, with a score of 8336, Duckworth is the 3rd highest scoring decathlete in British history. In his senior debut for Great Britain at the 2018 European Athletics Championships he finished 5th and he won his first senior international medal, the silver medal, at the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships The 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held between 1 and 3 March 2019 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. 2018 European Athletics Championships
The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom. For the second Championships in a row the Russian team did not participate; this was due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, several athletes were cleared by the IAAF to compete as Authorised Neutral Athletes under the flag of the European Athletic Association. A heptathlon is a track and field combined events contest made up of seven events. The name derives from the Greek επτά (hepta, meaning "seven") and ἄθλος (áthlos, or ἄθλον, áthlon, meaning "competition"). A competitor in a heptathlon is referred to as a heptathlete.
