Tim Burns (businessman)
Timothy Richard Burns (born April 14, 1968) is an American businessman from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He ran as a Republican in the 2010 special election to represent Western Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. Burns won the party nomination but lost the November general election to Democratic incumbent Mark Critz. From mid-October 2011 until ending his campaign in early February 2012, Burns was a candidate for the Republican nomination for United States Senate to challenge incumbent Senator Bob Casey, Jr. in the 2012 election. Timothy Burns (Wisconsin Politician)
Timothy Burns (May 31, 1820September 21, 1853) was an Irish American immigrant, Democratic politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He was the third Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, serving from 1852 until his death in 1853. Early life Born in Dublin, Ireland, on May 31, 1820, Burns came to New York in America with his family as an infant. In the fall of 1837 as a young man, he settled in Iowa County in Wisconsin Territory, where he engaged in lead mining. Career In 1844 Burns was elected sheriff of Iowa County. Elected in 1846, he served in the Wisconsin territorial House of Representatives in 1847-1848 and became Assembly Speaker. He visited La Crosse in 1847. Later, in 1849 he served in the Wisconsin State Assembly. In 1850, he moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin, and took a position on the State Board of Public Works. Timothy J. Burns (born 1973) is a former Democratic Oakland County Commissioner for the 19th District, which covers parts of Clawson and Troy. Biography Burns is a graduate of Bradley University and the University of Detroit Law School. He is married to his wife, Barbra, and resides in Clawson, where he has been very involved in his community. He is the President of the Troy Community Coalition for the Prevention of Alcohol & Drug Abuse, and also is a member of the Board of Directors for the Clawson Chamber of Commerce and the Clawson Community Credit Union. Tim Burns (born July 10, 1947) is an English-born Canadian soccer player who played as a midfielder. Career Burns played in the North American Soccer League with Toronto Metros in 1972. He would play with the Metros for four seasons in the NASL. For the remainder of the 1975 season he played in the National Soccer League with Toronto Homer.
