Tim Beaglehole
Timothy Holmes Beaglehole (28 April 1933 – 18 July 2015) was a New Zealand academic and Chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington. Born in Lower Hutt, Wellington, he was the son of the renowned historian John Beaglehole John Cawte Beaglehole (13 June 1901 – 10 October 1971) was a New Zealand historian whose greatest scholastic achievement was the editing of James Cook's three journals of exploration, together with the writing of an acclaimed biography of Coo .... He gained a Master of Arts, MA from Victoria University of Wellington, Victoria, then receiving a Master of Arts (Oxford, Cambridge and Dublin), MA and Doctor of Philosophy, PhD from King's College, Cambridge. He was a Harkness Fellow at Harvard University (1965–1966) and taught at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 1978.
