Basketball at the Summer Olympics has been a sport for men consistently since 1936. Prior to its inclusion as a medal sport, basketball was held as a demonstration event in 1904. Women's basketball made its debut in the Summer Olympics in 1976. Sten-Timmu Sokk (born 14 February 1989) is an Estonian professional basketball player for Charilaos Trikoupis Messolonghi B.C. of the Greek A2 Basket League. He is a 1.84 m (6 ft 0 in) tall point guard. He represents the Estonian national basketball team internationally. Professional career Sokk began playing basketball in his father's, Tiit Sokk's, basketball school. He began his professional career in 2005 with Noortekoondis/Audentes of the Korvpalli Meistriliiga. Tanel Sokk (born 20 January 1985) is an Estonian professional basketball player who plays for TalTech Basketball Team of the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Standing at 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in), he plays at the point guard position. He also represents the Estonian national basketball team internationally. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. The 1989 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1989, was the 26th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA Europe. The 1990 FIBA World Championship was the 11th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's teams. It was hosted by Argentina from 8 to 19 August 1990.
