Angela Mizinga (known as Empress Tigris or simply Tigris) is a Malawian singer/rapper from Ntcheu, Malawi. Early life Mizinga was born on 14 May to Mr and Mrs T.J. Mizinga as the last born of 10 children, in Ntcheu District. Tigris is not a signed artist, but already has a fan base across Africa and beyond, thanks to the performance she had this year at the Big Brother Amplified Eviction show on 12 June 2011, which gave her exposure to millions. Her dancers are The Elements Dance Crew who are the current best dance crew in Malawi according to the 'U Got Dance Moves' competition by Plusten Links. Career Mizinga began her entertainment career as a radio presenter for Capital FM radio. She became popular as a singer after featuring in "Anankabango" - with singer Young Kay and other singers. Ntcheu District
Ntcheu is a district in the Central Region of Malawi. It borders with the country of Mozambique. The district headquarters is Ntcheu, known as BOMA in the local language, but is most commonly called Mphate. It is run by Yeneya, the village headman. The district covers an area of 3,424 km.² and has a population of 659,608 people according to the 2018 Malawi Population and Housing Census. The Ntcheu district lies around halfway between Malawi's majors cities of Blantyre and Lilongwe - the capital city. Limbani Kalilani (born 15 June 1984) is a Malawian hip hop artist better known by his stage name Tay Grin. In 2009 Tay Grin founded an Entertainment & Event Promotion company, which helps to promote events across Malawi. The company is known as Black Rhyno Entertainment. In 2014, Grin won a Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (BEFFTA) award for Best International African Act. In 2016, he won the BEFFTA Star Award in the music category. Francis Kaphuka or Young Kay (born June 11, 1986) is a popular Malawian hip-hop artist that is known for fusing local Malawian folk songs with international genres. He is known for his vibrant sound and ability to mix Chichewa and English lyrics eloquently in his rhymes. This has earned him recognition as one of Malawi's best lyricists. Theo Thomson is a Malawian born singer, songwriter. Thomson is owner of the Blantyre-based Matalala Recording Studio. He lived in the UK, where he gained an interest in music with rapid artists productions performing and moved back to Malawi to expand his music career.
