Earl Woods
Earl Dennison Woods (March 5, 1932 – May 3, 2006) was the father of American professional golfer Tiger Woods. Woods started his son in golf at a very early age and coached him exclusively over his first years in the sport. He later published two books about the process. He was previously a U.S. Army infantry officer who served two tours of duty in South Vietnam and retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was also a college baseball player. TGR Learning Lab
The Tiger Woods Learning Center or TGR Learning Lab is an educational facility established in 2006 by the golfer Tiger Woods in Anaheim, California. A second TGR Learning Lab is set to open at Philadelphia’s Cobbs Creek Golf Course in 2024. The Anaheim learning center is used by several thousand students, with a day program for grades 4-6 and an after schools program for grades 7-12. It has a summer program, weekend and community outreach programs and online learning programs. It has multimedia facilities and an outdoor golf teaching area. Hero World Challenge
The Hero World Challenge is a golf tournament hosted by Tiger Woods, which takes place each December. It features a small number (currently 20) of top-ranked golf pros. The tournament is a benefit for the Tiger Woods Foundation. The event is part of the PGA Tour schedule, but does not offer FedEx Cup points or official money as it is an unofficial event. The Genesis Invitational is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour in southern California, first played in 1926 as the Los Angeles Open. Quicken Loans National
The National, originally titled for sponsorship reasons as the AT&T National and later as the Quicken Loans National, was a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour from 2007 to 2018. It was hosted by Tiger Woods and benefited the Tiger Woods Foundation. It was usually held either in late June or during the Fourth of July weekend in the Washington, D.C. area, except for 2010 and 2011 when it was held near Philadelphia. The National was a 72-hole stroke play tournament.
