Tierra De Nadie (UCV)
Tierra de nadie (''No man's land'') is the unofficial name of a public green space officially called Plaza Jorge Rodríguez in the University City of Caracas, the campus of the Central University of Venezuela. Location and history It takes its name because it is an area that belongs to none of the faculties that surround it, serving as a shared space for the whole university community; it is one of the most recognized meeting places within the university. The spaces that border the Tierra de nadie include the Plaza del Rectorado, the Aula Magna, the Central library, the canteen of the university, and several faculty buildings. The area designated the Tierra de nadie also extends to a small wooded area to the north and northeast of the square. An old magazine of UCV's School of Social Communication was also named Tierra de nadie. University City Of Caracas
The University City of Caracas (Spanish: ''Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas''), also known by the acronym CUC, is the main campus of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), located in central Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. It was designed by the Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. The Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas is considered a "masterpiece" of architecture and urban planning, and greatly influenced Venezuelan architecture. Villanueva oversaw design from the end of the Second World War, and oversaw the campus construction for 20 years. Rectory Plaza (''Spanish:'' plaza del Rectorado de la UCV), originally The Empty Plaza (''Spanish:'' La Plaza Vacía), is the name of a space located within the University City of Caracas, the campus of the Central University of Venezuela, in the San Pedro parish in the west of the city of Caracas. Aula Magna (Central University Of Venezuela)
The Aula Magna is an auditorium at the Central University of Venezuela. It is located within the University City of Caracas, next to the University's main library building. The hall was designed by the Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva in the 1940s and built by the Danish company Christiani & Nielsen from 1952–53. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in November 2000 for being artistically and architecturally significant. The most notable feature of the hall is its acoustic 'clouds', which serve both aesthetic and practical functions. The Biblioteca Central de la UCV, or Central Library is the main library in the University City of Caracas, and the most important one of the Central University of Venezuela. It is easily accessible from anywhere in the city as it is near the Caracas Metro line 3 station Ciudad Universitaria. History The library was first built in the 18th century, but the current building is the work of Venezuelan architect Carlos Raúl Villanueva, who designed it in the 1950s. Oswaldo Vigas (August 4, 1926 – April 22, 2014) was a Venezuelan artist, best known as a self-taught painter and muralist. His work includes painting, sculptures, prints, drawings, ceramics and tapestries. His artwork was created in France and Venezuela. He had over one hundred solo exhibitions and is represented in numerous public institutions and private collections around the world. Baltasar Lobo (22 February 1910 - 4 September 1993) was a Spain, Spanish artist, anarchist and sculptor best known for his compositions depicting mother and child. Life Born in Cerecinos de Campos, Zamora (province), Zamora, Spain, he moved to Paris, France in 1939 where his sculpting would be influenced by Constantin Brâncuși and Jean Arp. Cecilia García Arocha
Cecilia Carlota García Arocha Márquez (Caracas, Venezuela, 16 September 1953) is the current and the first female rector of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). She is also a dentist who graduated from the same university in 1976. She uses both of her father's surnames. Early life García was born in Caracas, to a family of UCV alumni. Jorge Jesús Rodríguez Gómez (born 9 November 1965) is a Venezuelan politician and psychiatrist serving as President of the National Assembly of Venezuela since 2021. Carlos Raúl Villanueva Astoul (May 30, 1900 – August 16, 1975) was a Venezuelan modernist architect. Villanueva went for the first time to Venezuela when he was 28 years old. He was involved in the development and modernization of Caracas, Maracay and other cities across the country. Among his works are El Silencio Redevelopment which included 7797 apartments and 207 shop premises and the Ciudad Universitaria, the main campus of the Central University of Venezuela.
