Tidewater refers to the north Atlantic coastal plain region of the United States of America. Definition Culturally, the Tidewater region usually includes the low-lying plains of southeast Virginia, Inner Banks#Albemarle Region, northeastern North Carolina, southern Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay.
