Phaeleh
Matthew "Matt" Preston, professionally known Phaeleh (pronounced "fella") is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ residing in Bristol, England. He has stated that his performing name has no specific meaning. He produces music that could be loosely described as cinematic electronica, but his roots are in dubstep, garage and house. He describes it as "electronic bass music" with a heavy emphasis on melody and emotional content. His main inspirations are Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, LTJ Bukem, Global Communication and Brian Eno. His compositions combine live instrumentation and electronic production. Dubstep
Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. Future Garage
Future garage is a genre of electronic music that incorporates a variety of influences from UK garage and softer elements from 2-step garage, leading to an off-kilter rhythmic style. Characteristic sounds are pitched vocal chops, warm filtered reese basses, dark atmospheres (including synth pads, field recordings and other atmospheric sounds) and vinyl crackle. Jess Mills
Jessica Rosemary Frances Mills, commonly known as Jess Mills, is an English singer/songwriter and musician, currently signed to Island Records, who has collaborated with many UK electronic music producers including Photek, Distance and Breakage. Early life and career Mills grew up in Kentish Town, North London. She is the daughter of Labour MP Tessa Jowell and lawyer David Mills, and attended Acland Burghley School; there, she met Niomi McLean-Daley, better known as Ms. Dynamite, becoming friends and, "doing dodgy dance routines in assembly together." Snow Ghosts
Snow Ghosts is a British musical group active since 2008. As of 2020, they have released four studio albums and four EPs. History Producer Ross Tones (aka Throwing Snow) and vocalist Hannah Cartwright (aka Augustus Ghost) first met and started collaborating in 2008, having a shared interest in British folklore and experimental electronic music. The first Snow Ghosts record, the ''Lost at Sea'' EP, was released through Black Acre Records in 2011. Following this initial release, Tones and Cartwright spent the next two years compiling their debut album, ''A Small Murmuration'', which was released on London nightclub Fabric's record label Houndstooth in 2013.
