Ticks (film)
''Ticks'', also known as ''Infested'', is a 1993 direct-to-video horror film directed by Tony Randel and starring Peter Scolari, Seth Green, Rosalind Allen, Ami Dolenz, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Clint Howard. Plot Drug dealer Jarvis Tanner uses steroids to enhance marijuana plants. Run-off from his operation has mutated the local ticks. Tyler Burns is sent to join an inner-city wilderness project in an attempt to conquer his fear of the woods, led by Holly Lambert and Charles Danson. Tyler meets his fellow campers Darrel “Panic” Lumley, Charles’ daughter Melissa, Dee Dee Davenport, Rome Hernandez, and Kelly Mishimoto. They stop at a store to get supplies. While there, Melissa is confronted by Sir and Jerry, two locals. Jerry harasses Melissa, but is told to leave her alone by Sir. Jarvis’ hamster is killed by a tick. Tony Randel
Tony Randel (born May 29, 1956) is an American film director and screenwriter. Film career In 1985, Randel (credited as Anthony Randel) produced the New World Pictures rework of the Japanese ''The Return of Godzilla'' into the English film ''Godzilla 1985''. Randel's breakthrough into directing came when Randel, who had supervised the production of Clive Barker's ''Hellraiser'', was hired by New World's President of Production, Steve White, to direct the sequel '' Hellbound: Hellraiser II''. It received mixed reviews, but was a financial success. Randel also directed the live-action film adaptation of the manga ''Fist of the North Star''. The film premiered on HBO and was released to video. He also directed one of ''Fangorias low-budget films, '' Children of the Night'' (1991), which one critic described as obviously low budget, but with striking scenes. Direct-to-video or straight-to-video refers to the release of a film, TV series, short or special to the public immediately on home video formats rather than an initial theatrical release or television premiere. This distribution strategy was prevalent before streaming platforms came to dominate the TV and movie distribution markets. 4K Blu-ray
Ultra HD Blu-ray (4K Ultra HD, UHD-BD, or 4K Blu-ray) is a digital optical disc data storage format that is an enhanced variant of Blu-ray. Ultra HD Blu-ray discs are incompatible with existing standard Blu-ray players, though a traditional Blu-ray and digital copy are often packaged with Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. Ultra HD Blu-ray supports 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 pixel resolution) video at frame rates up to 60 progressive frames per second, encoded using High-Efficiency Video Coding. Cellulose acetate film, or safety film, is used in photography as a base material for photographic emulsions. It was introduced in the early 20th century by film manufacturers and intended as a safe film base replacement for unstable and highly flammable nitrate film. Cellulose diacetate film was first created by the German chemists Arthur Eichengrün and Theodore Becker, who patented it under the name Cellit, from a process they devised in 1901 for the direct acetylation of cellulose at a low temperature to prevent its degradation, which permitted the degree of acetylation to be controlled, thereby avoiding total conversion to its triacetate. The Blu-ray Disc (BD), often known simply as Blu-ray, is a digital optical disc data storage format. It was invented and developed in 2005 and released on June 20, 2006 worldwide. It is designed to supersede the DVD format, and capable of storing several hours of high-definition video (HDTV 720p and 1080p). The main application of Blu-ray is as a medium for video material such as feature films and for the physical distribution of video games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The name "Blu-ray" refers to the blue laser (which is actually a violet laser) used to read the disc, which allows information to be stored at a greater density than is possible with the longer-wavelength red laser used for DVDs.
