Tiburón Golf Club
Tiburón Golf Club is a golf club located in Naples, Florida. It has two courses, Gold and Black, both designed by Greg Norman, twice the winner of the Open Championship and formerly the top-ranked player in the world. From Australia, Norman's nickname on the PGA Tour was the "Great White Shark", and tiburón is the Spanish word for shark. The Gold Course hosts the annual QBE Shootout (formerly Franklin Templeton Shootout), originally the "Shark Shootout", an off-season golf event hosted by Norman that includes members of the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions. The tournament debuted in California in 1989 and moved to Tiburón in 2001. The Chubb Classic is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions, held annually in February in Naples, Florida. It has been played at a variety of courses, and Chubb Corporation is the main sponsor. It debuted in 1988 as the Aetna Challenge,. The purse in 2016 was $1.6 million with a winner's share of $240,000. 2013 LPGA Tour
The 2013 LPGA Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The Tour began in Australia on February 14 and ended on November 24 in Florida. The tournaments were sanctioned by the United States-based Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Inbee Park of South Korea won the most tournaments, six, including three majors. PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50. QBE Shootout
The QBE Shootout is a team golf event that takes place on the PGA Tour as an unofficial money event. It was originally played during the off-season, but now it is played during the wrap-around season's December break. The event began in 1989, as the RMCC Invitational. It is hosted by golfer Greg Norman. The tournament was soon renamed the Shark Shootout after Norman's nickname, and has had several names since (see Winners below ). The first eleven editions of the tournament were played at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California (1989–99).
