Tibor Szemző
Tibor Szemző (born 1955, Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian composer, performer, media artist. His pieces often include spoken texts, film and other media. He creates installations and composes music for his own and others’ films. Ever since the beginning of his career, he has been performing actively and widely in Hungary and abroad as well. Biography Szemző was born in Budapest, into a middle-class family, declassed as a result of World War II and socialism. His family originates from former Upper Hungary. His musical training was conducted in accordance with the Kodály method. He attended an elementary school that specialised in music. Originally he studied fine mechanics at high school that he abandoned at the age of 17 to dedicate all of his time to instrumental studies. Leo Records
Leo Records is a British record company and label which releases jazz from Russian, American, and British musicians. It concentrates on free jazz. Leo Records was founded in 1979 by Leo Feigin (also known under his broadcasting name Aleksei Leonidov), a Russian immigrant to Britain. The label was particularly associated with establishing the world reputation of the Ganelin Trio during the 1970s and 1980s. It is generally associated with more experimental releases. The label has a close relationship with the artists who release material on the label; it does not sign artists to contracts, but releases their material on a single-album basis. Tamás Waliczky
Tamás Waliczky (born in 1959, in Budapest, Hungary), is a Hungarian artist and animator, known for his new media art. Biography Tamás Waliczky started out by creating cartoon films (1968–1983), whilst working as a painter, illustrator and photographer. He began working with computers in 1983. He was artist-in-residence at the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in 1992, and subsequently a member of the Institute's research staff (1993–1997). Later taking up a guest professorship at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar (HBK Saar) in Saarbrücken (1997–2002). Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) in Gifu, Japan, chose Waliczky as artist-in-residence for 1998 to 1999. Szentendre
Szentendre () is a riverside town in Pest County, Hungary, between the capital city Budapest and Pilis Mountains, Pilis-Visegrád Mountains. Danubius Quartet
The Danubius Quartet was formed in Hungary in 1983. Its personnel comprise the violinists Judit Tóth (formerly Mária Szabó) and Adél Miklós, violist Cecilia Bodolai (formerly Agnes Apró) and cellist Ilona Wibli, under the artistic direction of the violinist Vilmos Tátrai. Amadinda Percussion Group
Amadinda Percussion Group is a percussion ensemble that was formed in Budapest in 1984 by four musicians, who had just after having graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. Since founding the ensemble, their aim has been twofold: to present masterpieces of percussion music unknown to the Hungarian audience, and to perform the music of Hungarian contemporary composers in their country and abroad. One of their principal intentions is to inspire Hungarian and international composers to create new pieces. Moyzes Quartet
The Moyzes Quartet is a Slovakian string quartet. It was founded in 1975, and consists of Stanislav Mucha (first violin), František Török (second violin), Alexander Lakatoš (viola) and Ján Slávik (cello). The ''Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus'' (widely abbreviated and cited as TLP) is a book-length philosophical work by the Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein which deals with the relationship between language and reality and aims to define the limits of science. Béla Hamvas
Béla Hamvas (23 March 1897 – 7 November 1968) was a Hungarian writer, philosopher, and social critic. He was the first thinker to introduce the Traditionalist School of René Guénon to Hungary. Biography Béla Hamvas was born on 23 March 1897 in Eperjes, Sáros County, Kingdom of Hungary (present-day Prešov, Slovakia). His father, József Hamvas was a Lutheran pastor, teacher of German and Hungarian, journalist and writer. Mari Törőcsik
Mari Törőcsik (born Marián Törőcsik; 23 November 1935 – 16 April 2021) was a Hungarian stage and film actress. She appeared in more than 170 films from 1956 to 2020.
