Tibet (cartoonist)
Tibet (), the pseudonym of Gilbert Gascard (; 29 October 1931 – 3 January 2010), was a French cartoonist in the Franco-Belgian comics tradition. Tibet, who debuted in 1947, is known for work produced for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine ''Tintin'', most notably the long-running series ''Ric Hochet'' and ''Chick Bill''. Angoulême International Comics Festival
The Angoulême International Comics Festival (french: Festival international de la bande dessinée d'Angoulême) is the second largest comics festival in Europe after the Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, and the third biggest in the world after Lucca Comics & Games and the Comiket of Japan. It has occurred every year since 1974 in Angoulême, France, in January. René Goscinny
René Goscinny (, ; 14 August 1926 – 5 November 1977) was a French comic editor and writer, who created the ''Astérix'' comic book series with illustrator Albert Uderzo. Raised largely in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he attended French schools, he lived for a time in the United States. There he met Belgian cartoonist Morris. After his return to France, they collaborated for more than 20 years on the comic series ''Lucky Luke'' (in what was considered the series' golden age). He wrote ''Iznogoud'' with Jean Tabary. Goscinny also wrote a series of children's books known as ''Le Petit Nicolas'' (''Little Nicolas'') illustrated by Jean-Jacques Sempé. Early life Goscinny was born in Paris in 1926, to Jewish immigrants from Poland. Chlorophylle
Chlorophylle was a Belgian comics series and Raymond Macherot's best known work, alongside '' Sibylline''. It is a fantasy comic about anthropomorphic forest animals, including the title character Chlorophylle, who is a dormouse. Description Chlorophylle is set in a European forest, more specifically in the animal kingdom of Coquefredouille. It's a world in itself and a mini anthropomorphic version of human society. All albums center around Chlorophylle, a dormouse who often has to solve problems and opponents who are much bigger than himself. The stories were originally set in a realistic natural environment, but after 1963 Macherot changed it to a more humanized animal world. Le Lombard
''Le Lombard'', known as ''Les Éditions du Lombard'' until 1989, is a Belgian comic book publisher established in 1946 when ''Tintin'' magazine was launched. Le Lombard is now part of Média-Participations, alongside publishers Dargaud and Dupuis, with each entity maintaining its editorial independence. History Les Éditions du Lombard was established by Raymond Leblanc and his partners in 1946. Wanting to create an illustrated youth magazine, they decided that the already well-known ''Tintin'' would be the perfect hero. Business partner André Sinave went to see Tintin creator Hergé to propose creating the magazine. Hergé, who had worked for ''Le Soir'' during the war, was being prosecuted for having collaborated with the Germans and did not have a publisher at the time. After consulting with his friend Edgar Pierre Jacobs, Hergé agreed. The first issue of ''Tintin'' magazine was published on 26 September 1946. André-Paul Duchâteau (8 May 1925 – 26 August 2020) was a Belgian comics writer and mystery novelist. Biography He worked with Tibet (comics), Tibet on the detective comics series ''Ric Hochet'' and the more humoristic western comic ''Chick Bill''. He also wrote under the pseudonym Michel Vasseur. Duchâteau additionally wrote several detective novels and radio plays. As a dramatist he is most famous for his play ''5 à 7 Avec La Mort'' (1960), which has been adapted into various media. Duchâteau died on 26 August 2020. Michel Régnier (5 May 1931 – 29 October 1999), best known by his pseudonym Greg, was a Belgian cartoonist best known for ''Achille Talon'', and later became editor of ''Tintin'' magazine. Biography Regnier was born in Ixelles, Belgium in 1931. His first series, ''Les Aventures de Nestor et Boniface'', appeared in the Belgian magazine '' Vers l'Avenir'' when he was sixteen. He moved to the comic magazine ''Héroic Albums'', going on to work for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine '' Spirou'' in 1954. In 1955 he launched his own magazine, ''Paddy'', but eventually discontinued it.
