Tianjin Juilliard School
The Tianjin Juilliard School () is a branch of the Juilliard School located in Binhai, Tianjin, China. It is the first institution in China which offers a U.S.-accredited Master of Music degree. History In 2012, the Juilliard School signed an agreement with , , and the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, to build a school in the Yujiapu Financial District of Binhai in Tianjin. The school was to be managed by Juilliard. On September 28, 2015 during a trip from the First Lady of China Peng Liyuan, the dean of the Juilliard School, Joseph W. Polisi, announced that the school will build a research institute in Tianjin in 2018. Erik Ralske
Erik Ralske is an American classical horn player. He has been principal horn of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra since 2010, following seventeen seasons as third horn of the New York Philharmonic. He was featured horn soloist of the MET's production of Wagner's ''Ring Cycle'', and was a soloist on several occasions with the New York Philharmonic. He is also a member of the orchestra's Philharmonic Quintet of New York. Ralske, a native of Long Island, New York, studied at the Juilliard School where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree in 1980 and his Master of Music in 1982. Charles Neidich
Charles Neidich (born 1953 in New York City) is an American classical clarinetist, composer, and conductor. Early career A native New Yorker of Russian and Greek descent, Charles Neidich began his clarinet studies with his father, Irving Neidich, at the age of eight, and continued them with the renowned teacher Leon Russianoff and, later in Moscow, with Boris Dikov. His reputation has grown steadily since his 1974 New York recital début while still a student at Yale. A series of prizes helped launch his early career: the Silver Medal in the 1979 Geneva International Music Competition, Second Prize in the 1982 Munich International Competition and one of three Grand Prizes in the 1984 Accanthes International Competition in Paris. Joseph Lin (violinist)
Joseph Lin (; born 1978) is a Taiwanese-American violinist. From 2011 to 2018, he was the first violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet. Currently, he is on the violin and chamber music faculty of the Juilliard School in New York City. Early life and education Lin was born in the United States to immigrant parents from Taiwan. He attended the Juilliard School Pre-College Division and later graduated ''magna cum laude'' from Harvard College in 2000. Anna Ji-eun Lee (Korean: 이지은; born July 11, 1995), known professionally as Anna Lee, is an American concert violinist of Korean descent. She made her professional orchestral debut at the age of 6 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Early life and education Anna Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea. She began violin lessons at the age of 4 with her father in Seoul, and soon after began formal training with Alexander Souptel after her family moved to Singapore. Joel Krosnick
Joel Krosnick (born 1941, New Haven, Connecticut) is an American cellist who has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout the world for over 40 years. As a member of the Juilliard String Quartet from 1974 to 2016, he performed the great quartet literature throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Early life Joel Krosnick was born in 1941 to a family of enthusiastic amateur musicians—his mother was a pianist, his father a violinist/doctor. There was so much recorded and live chamber music in his home that by the time Joel was twelve years old, he had played most of the Classical and Romantic piano trio literature with his mother and (now professional) violinist brother, Aaron. Sheila Browne is an American-Irish concert violist from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania with dual citizenship. She is a concert and recording artist and Associate Professor at the University of Delaware. For ten years she was on faculty and Associate Professor of Viola at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Chamber Music
Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a palace chamber or a large room. Most broadly, it includes any art music that is performed by a small number of performers, with one performer to a part (in contrast to orchestral music, in which each string part is played by a number of performers).
