Tiago Mesquita
Tiago Manuel Oliveira Mesquita (born 23 November 1990) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Liga 3 club Lusitânia. Club career Mesquita was born in Ribeirão, Vila Nova de Famalicão. After emerging through C.D. Trofense's youth academy, he made his professional debut with hometown side G.D. Ribeirão in the 2007–08 season, in the third division. In the summer of 2009, having appeared in only 16 matches with the main squad over the course of two seasons, Mesquita signed – not yet aged 19 – with Deportivo Alavés in Spain, playing in the same level. In his first year, he took part in less than half of the league matches as the Basques failed to regain their lost status of the previous campaign. 2008–09 Segunda División
The 2008–09 Segunda División season (known from that season as Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 30 August 2008, and the season ended on 21 June 2009. Real Zaragoza, Real Murcia and Levante were the teams relegated from La Liga the previous season. Alicante, Girona, Huesca and Rayo Vallecano were the teams promoted from Segunda División B the previous season. The first goal of the season was scored by Alexandre Geijo, who scored in the 11th minute for Levante against Real Zaragoza in the early kick-off. The Primeira Liga (; English: Premier League, also written as Liga Portugal 1), also known as Liga Portugal Bwin for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Portuguese football league system.
