Thuta Swesone Literary Award

	Thuta Swesone Literary Award The Thuta Swesone literary awards have been presented by the Swesone Media group since 2006. They are sponsored by Tin Tun Oo, the cofounder of the Myanmar Times. The awards complement the government's National Literary Awards and Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Awards and the Sayawun Tin Shwe Award, Pakokku U Ohn Pe literary award and Tun Foundation award. Awards by year 2007 awards The fourth awards, for the year 2007, were announced in February 2009. A panel of eight judges from Swesone Media Group and from the Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association chose the winners. The 79-year-old writer and historian Khin Maung Nyunt won the lifetime achievement prize. Maung Tun Lwin (Meteorology) won the Science knowledge prize for ''The Girl Called La Niña and Articles about Natural Disasters''. 	Tin Tun Oo Tin Tun Oo ( my, တင်ထွန်းဦး) is a Burma, Burmese media entrepreneur who owns Swesone Media Company, with about 60 employees. The group publishes the ''Thuta Swesone'' magazine, ''Pyi Myanmar'' journal, ''Arrawjan'' magazine and ''Good Health'' journal. He is sponsor of the annual Thuta Swesone literary award. ''The Myanmar Times'' began publishing in 2000. Ross Dunkley had 49% of the company and Sonny Swe, an associate of General Khin Nyunt owned 40%. 	Pe Myint Pe Myint ( my, ဖေမြင့် ; born 15 December 1949) is a Burmese politician, writer and a former Minister for Information of Myanmar (Burma). Early life and education Pe Myint was born on 15 December 1949 in Sandoway, Burma (now Thandwe, Myanmar) to Aung Nyein and Khin Thein. He is of Rakhine descent.
