Thunder is the sound caused by lightning. Depending upon the distance from and nature of the lightning, it can range from a long, low rumble to a sudden, loud crack. A merger, consolidation or amalgamation, in a political or administrative sense, is the combination of two or more political or administrative entities, such as municipalities (in other words cities, towns, etc.), counties, districts, etc., into a single entity. Thunder Bay has 38 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 5 secondary schools, 2 private schools, a university, two colleges, a medical school, and an adult education facility.
