Thuliswa Nkabinde-Khawe
Thuliswa Winlove Nkabinde-Khawe (4 January 1973 – 1 November 2019) was a South African politician and a party member of the African National Congress (ANC). She was elected a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in May 2009 and was a long-serving member of the Social Development committee in the legislature, prior to her appointment as Gauteng MEC (Member of the Executive Council) for Social Development in May 2019. She was an MEC until her death just over five months later. Early life and career Nkabinde-Khawe was born on 4 January 1973 in the now-dissolved Transvaal Province. She became involved in politics at a young age, joining ACTSTOP, a civic organisation, in the 1980s where she held multiple leadership positions. She was part of the formation of the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) and was a senior leader in the structure. She was SANCO's provincial secretary at the time of her death. South African National Civic Organisation
The South African National Civics Organisation or South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) is an umbrella political organisation in South Africa. It was founded in March 1992 to coordinate among existing civic organisations, which had been central in the latter phases of the struggle against apartheid. At its founding conference, 2,000 organisations were represented. In practice, affiliate organisations retained a great deal of autonomy.. Primarily aligned to the African National Congress (ANC), SANCO played a high profile role in Track II initiatives during the negotiations to end apartheid, particularly with respect to the transformation of local government in South Africa. Meyerton, Gauteng
Meyerton is a small town lying 18 km north of Vereeniging in Gauteng, South Africa. It is situated in the Midvaal Local Municipality (of which it is the capital) in the Sedibeng District Municipality. History Meyerton was established in 1891 and was named after Johannes Petrus Meyer, a field cornet and member of the Transvaal Volksraad. It acquired municipal status in 1961. David Makhura
Manemolla David Makhura (born 22 February 1968) is a South African politician. He served as the 6th Premier of Gauteng following his election in 2014 until his resignation in October 2022. He was also a member of the Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature during that time. Makhura is a member of the African National Congress (ANC). Makhura is also the trustee of the board of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation. Jacob Khawe
Jacob Khawe is a South African politician who was the Provincial Secretary of the African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng from 2018 to 2022. He was formerly the Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality from 2017 to 2018 and before that he represented the ANC in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. Political career Khawe is a member of the African National Congress (ANC); his local party branch is in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng. By 2010, he was the Provincial Chairperson of the ANC Youth League's Gauteng branch.
