Thru Different Eyes (1929 Film)
''Thru Different Eyes'' is a 1929 American pre-Code drama film directed by John G. Blystone and written by Tom Barry and Milton Herbert Gropper. The film stars Mary Duncan, Edmund Lowe, Warner Baxter, Natalie Moorhead, Earle Foxe and Donald Gallaher. The film was released on April 14, 1929, by Fox Film Corporation. Plot Harvey Manning is tried for murdering his best friend, Jack Winfield, whose body was found in the Manning home. During the trial, attorneys on both sides offer contrasting versions of Manning's character and his wife, Viola, and of the events preceding the murder. Manning is found guilty, but then a young girl comes forward and confesses to killing Winfield. Selmer Jackson
Selmer Adolf Jackson (May 7, 1888 – March 30, 1971) was an American stage film and television actor. He appeared in nearly 400 films between 1921 and 1963. His name was sometimes spelled Selmar Jackson. Jackson was born in Lake Mills, Iowa and died in Burbank, California from a heart attack. Jackson gained early acting experience in stock theater, working with groups such as the Des Moines Stock Company. Jackson's screen debut was in the silent film ''The Supreme Passion'' (1921). On March 30, 1971, Jackson died of a heart attack in Burbank, California. He was 82. Stuart Erwin (February 14, 1903 – December 21, 1967) was an American actor of stage, film, and television. Early years Erwin was born in Squaw Valley, Fresno County, California. He attended Porterville High School and the University of California. Career Erwin began acting in college in the 1920s, having first appeared on stage. From there, he acted in stock theater in Los Angeles. Film career He broke into films in 1928 in ''Mother Knows Best''. In 1934, he was cast as Joe Palooka in the film '' Palooka''. William Stanley Blystone (August 1, 1894 – July 16, 1956) was an American film actor who made more than 500 films appearances between 1924 and 1956. He was sometimes billed as William Blystone or William Stanley. Early years Blystone was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was a steel production engineer and worked in ore mines before he became an actor. Career Blystone is best known for his appearance in Charlie Chaplin's '' Modern Times'', playing Paulette Goddard's father, and several short films starring The Three Stooges. Marian Spitzer (sometimes credited under her married name, Marian Spitzer Thompson) was an American screenwriter, journalist, playwright, and actress. Biography Spitzer was born in Manhattan to Lewis Spitzer and Adaline Wolfsheim. She and her younger sister, Janet, were raised in New York City. After graduating from New York University in 1918, she embarked on a career as a journalist, working at newspapers like ''The Evening Globe''. Arthur Stone (born Arthur Taylor Goetze; November 28, 1883 – September 4, 1940) was an American character actor of the late silent and early sound film eras. Biography Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 28, 1883, Stone entered the film industry by starring in several film shorts for the Hal Roach Studios in 1924 and 1925. 1926 would see his first appearance in a feature film, '' Miss Nobody'', directed by Lambert Hillyer and starring Walter Pidgeon.
