''A Matter of Time'' is the sixth studio album by British Rock music, rock band Shed Seven. It was released on 5 January 2024 through Cooking Vinyl Limited. The album marks their first studio release in over six years. Background The announcement of ''A Matter of Time'' arrived alongside the lead single release of "Kissing California" on 13 July 2023. Produced by Youth (musician), Youth, the band took a "nostalgic journey back to [their] roots", delving into the sounds that ignited their passion "for song-writing at the tender age of 12". As a result, Shed Seven reconnected with classic albums from their youth in order to get inspired. Release of the album coincides with the band's 30th anniversary, having released their debut album ''Change Giver'' in 1994. Four other singles were release prior to the album - F:K:H, In Ecstasy, Starlings and Talk of the Town. Pete Doherty featured on vocals for the album's closing song, Throwaways. Shed Seven
Shed Seven are a alternative rock band, formed in York in 1990. One of the groups which contributed to the Britpop music scene of the 1990s, they continue to write, record and release music over thirty years later. They originally comprised singer Rick Witter, guitarist/keyboardist Joe Johnson, bassist Tom Gladwin and drummer Alan Leach. Johnson was later replaced by Paul Banks (musician, born 1973), Paul Banks, although a later lineup of the band included both Johnson and Banks. They belonged to the post-The Smiths, Smiths wave of British musicians such as The Sundays and Marion (band), Marion, with a sound relying heavily on complex guitar arpeggios often in a minor key, and wailing vocals. At the height of their popularity between 1994 and 1999 they had fifteen Top 40 singles and four Top 20 albums in the UK.
