Through The Darkness (album)
''Through The Darkness'' is the third album by New York City glam punk band D Generation. It was their second released via Columbia Records, and their last release until 2016. It is the only D Generation album without founding member and guitarist Richard Bacchus, who was replaced by Todd Youth. The album was produced by T. Rex and David Bowie producer Tony Visconti. Drummer Michael Wildwood's writing credits on "Lonely" and "Cornered" are listed under his actual name of "Michael Reich." D Generation broke up a month after its release; the band eventually regrouped to record a new album, '' Nothing Is Anywhere'', which was released 17 years later, in 2016. "Helpless" was taken from the record as a single; the single appeared in the movie ''The Faculty''. Glam Punk
Glam punk is a term used retrospectively to describe a short-lived trend for bands which produced a form of proto-punk that incorporated elements of glam rock, initially in the early to mid-1970s. History Glam punk has been seen as a backlash to the hippie folk music sensibilities of the 1960s. Lucy O'Brien defines the New York Dolls style as combining "Rolling Stones raunch with heavy borrowings from the girl group era". The band was highly influential in New York City's club scene of the early 1970s, as well as with later generations of musicians,T. D Generation Albums
D, or d, is the fourth letter in the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''dee'' (pronounced ), plural ''dees''. History The Semitic letter Dāleth may have developed from the logogram for a fish or a door. There are many different Egyptian hieroglyphs that might have inspired this. Howie Pyro
Howie Pyro (born Howard Kusten, June 28, 1960 – May 4, 2022) was an American bass player. He was a founding member of The Blessed, Freaks, D Generation, and PCP Highway. Pyro was also the bass player in Danzig from 2000–2003. Biography Pyro was a DJ at Green Door parties. He was the host of ''Intoxica Radio with Howie Pyro'', an internet radio show where he played "50s and 60s rock and roll, psycho surf, garage, rockabilly, hillbilly horrors, voodoo r & b, insane instrumentals, religious nuts, and teenage hell music." Pyro was also friends with Sid Vicious and was one of the last people to see the former Sex Pistols bassist alive; Pyro was there the night he died from a heroin overdose. Neil Young
Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. Jesse Malin
Jesse Malin (born January 26, 1967) is an American rock musician, guitarist, and songwriter. Starting his performing career in the New York hardcore band Heart Attack, and rising to prominence as vocalist of D Generation, a solo recording artist, having recorded numerous albums including the Lucinda Williams produced '' Sunset Kids''. Over the course of his career, Malin has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Ryan Adams and numerous other musicians. CMJ New Music Report
CMJ Holdings Corp. is a music events and online media company, originally founded in 1978, which ran a website, hosted an annual festival in New York City, and published two magazines, ''CMJ New Music Monthly'' and ''CMJ New Music Report''. The company folded around 2017, but was bought by Amazing Radio in 2019 who will bring back the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, along with other new live and live-streamed offerings. Nothing Is Anywhere
D Generation (also known as DGen) are an American glam punk band formed in 1991 in New York City. They released three albums and several EPs, to much critical acclaim, before breaking up in 1999. In 2011 the band reunited for a series of shows in Europe and the United States. In 2016, the band reunited again and, on July 29, 2016, they released their fourth album, ''Nothing Is Anywhere''. Todd Youth
Todd Schofield (May 15, 1971 – October 27, 2018), known as Todd Youth, was an American guitarist, best known for his work with Warzone, Murphy's Law and Danzig. Biography Schofield was born and raised in Passaic County, New Jersey, and began playing in several New York hardcore bands at a young age, leading to the nickname, Youth. He debuted with Agnostic Front in 1983 but did not play on any recordings. Youth also played for New York City act Warzone until around 1986. He joined Murphy's Law (another New York City band) that year, recording on various works with them, including three full-length albums. Youth performed with Murphy's Law until 1995. After leaving Murphy's Law, he recorded a single with a band named The Homewreckers in 1996.
