Thriller (Eddie And The Hot Rods Album)
''Thriller'' is the third studio album by pub rock band Eddie and the Hot Rods, reaching #50 on the UK Albums Chart. Released in 1979, it was produced by Peter Ker. The album builds on the sound they established on the previous studio record ''Life on the Line''. Shortly after the release of ''Thriller'', the band was sacked by their record company and forced to join EMI Records. The album was reissued in 2002 with two bonus tracks: "Horror Through Straightness" and "Highlands 1 Hopefuls 2". These songs had been the B-sides to the singles released on the LP. The album featured two singles: "Media Messiahs" and "The Power and the Glory", neither of which charted on the UK Singles Chart. Linda McCartney provided backing vocals on "The Power and the Glory". Reception of the album was muted. Linda McCartney
Linda Louise McCartney, Lady McCartney ( Eastman; September 24, 1941 – April 17, 1998) was an American photographer, musician, animal rights activist, vegetarian cookbook author and advocate, and entrepreneur. She was the keyboardist in the band Wings, which also featured her husband, Paul McCartney, a former member of the Beatles. Beginning in the mid-1960s, Linda began a career as a photographer, landing with '' Town & Country'', where she soon gained assignments to photograph various musicians and entertainers. Lee Brilleaux (born Lee John Collinson; 10 May 1952 – 7 April 1994) was an English rhythm-and-blues singer and musician with the band Dr. Feelgood. Julian Miles Holland, (born 24 January 1958) is an English pianist, bandleader, singer, composer and television presenter. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Paul Gray (English Musician)
Paul Murray Granville Gray (born 1 August 1958) is an English rock musician notable for playing with the bands Eddie and the Hot Rods and The Damned. Biography Paul Gray was born in Leigh-on-Sea. Inspired by a Hawkwind gig he attended, Gray started learning bass guitar at the age of 13, his playing influenced by bassists such as Steve Currie, Lemmy, John Entwistle, Felix Pappalardi and Roger Glover. He joined Eddie and the Hot Rods as bassist after answering an advert in the ''Southend Evening Echo''. The band had several hit singles and albums in the late 1970s, including "Do Anything You Wanna Do". While working with Eddie and the Hot Rods, he also recorded bass for Larry Wallis, Rob Tyner and Johnny Thunders, as well as filling in as temporary bassist for The Members.
