Three Valley Gap
Three Valley Gap is an unincorporated settlement on the Trans-Canada Highway adjacent to the lake of the same name. It is located 27 km southwest of Revelstoke, just west of the summit of Eagle Pass. The three valleys of the name include the eastern and western egresses from the pass and a southward opening into the upper reaches of Wap Creek, which is a northern tributary of the Shuswap River. The 3 Valley Lake Chateau and Heritage Ghost Town is located here. The facility includes a 200-room hotel, a collection of heritage buildings, an antique car museum, enclosed railway roundhouse with antique rail car exhibit, and attached grounds with helicopter tours offered. The attraction is closed during the winter months. Revelstoke () is a city in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, with a census population of 8,275 in 2021. Revelstoke is located east of Vancouver, and west of Calgary, Alberta. The city is situated on the banks of the Columbia River just south of the Revelstoke Dam and near its confluence with the Illecillewaet River. Eagle Pass (British Columbia)
Eagle Pass (elevation ) is a mountain pass through the Gold Range of the Monashee Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. It divides the Columbia River drainage basin from that of the Fraser River (via the Shuswap Lakes and the Thompson River). Eagle Pass was chosen as the route of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), and later the Trans-Canada Highway, over the Monashees. The line over the Eagle Pass was the last section of the CPR to be completed; the last spike was driven at a location known as Craigellachie in 1885. Shuswap River
The basin of the Shuswap River (pronounced /ˈʃuːʃwɑːp/) lies northeast of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, originating in the central Monashee Mountains. It is the upper part of the drainage better known to British Columbians as belonging to Shuswap Lake and the South Thompson River. The river's drainage basin is over in area. Geography The river is in three sections, an upper part beginning at Joss Pass, at the northern end of the Sawtooth Range of the Monashees and emptying into Sugar Lake southeast of the south end of that range. Columbia Country
Columbia Country refers to the upper basin of the Columbia River in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It includes a smaller region known as the Columbia Valley, near the river's headwaters at Columbia Lake in the Rocky Mountain Trench, as well as the Big Bend of that river, now mostly inundated by Kinbasket Lake and Revelstoke Lake. The area has no precisely defined boundaries, but conventionally Columbia Country encompasses the region upstream of Revelstoke, as the Arrow Lakes are generally referred to as a region in their own right, or as part of the West Kootenay.
