Roberto Mauri (born 1924) is an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. Life and career Born Giuseppe Tagliavia in Castelvetrano, Trapani, Mauri began his career as a film actor in low-budget films, occasionally even playing main roles. He debuted as a director co-directing with Andrea Bianchi the crime film ''La legge del mitra'', in which he was also an actor. Mainly active between the 1960s and the first half of the 1970s, Mauri specialized in the Spaghetti Western genre, in which he was sometimes credited as Robert Johnson. Mario Feliciani (12 March 1918 – 11 August 2008) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Life and career Born in Milan, after completing his classical education Feliciani attended the Accademia dei filodrammatici obtaining the diploma. He made his stage debut in 1941, with the theatrical company "Palcoscenico". Later he was part of various companies, obtaining his first personal successes in 1946, with the drama ''La luna è tramontata''. From 1947 to 1952 he was a member of the Piccolo Teatro's stage company directed by Giorgio Strehler. He had also a very long and important collaboration on stage with Vittorio Gassman, also performing tours abroad with him. Aldo Piga
Aldo Piga (1928–1994) was an Italian-American composer who worked mainly in New York. Aldo Piga's work was mainly produced in the 1950s and 1960s in Italy. He started as a song composer and later approached the movie soundtrack field. His participation in the pop music Italian market counts with two participations in the famous contest of Sanremo, one of which was overshadowed in the year of the famous Modugno's song " Volare". He recorded about one hundred film soundtracks. His activity as a composer was strongly influenced by classical music and bebop jazz roots of his early years in the New York music scene. After a promising career as a music writer, he decided to start working as a film producer in the late 1960s. This change led to an end in both his careers as a writer and producer. Sword-and-sandal, also known as peplum (pepla plural), is a subgenre of largely Italian-made historical, mythological, or Biblical epics mostly set in the Greco-Roman antiquity or the Middle Ages. These films attempted to emulate the big-budget Hollywood historical epics of the time, such as ''Samson and Delilah'' (1949), ''Quo Vadis'' (1951), ''The Robe'' (1953), ''The Ten Commandments'' (1956), '' Ben-Hur'' (1959), ''Spartacus'' (1960), and ''Cleopatra'' (1963). These films dominated the Italian film industry from 1958 to 1965, eventually being replaced in 1965 by spaghetti Western and Eurospy films. Lisa Gastoni (born 28 July 1935) is an Italian film actress. Gastoni was named "Best Italian Actress of the Year, 1966" as she received both the Nastro D'Argento Award and the Golden Globe Award from Italy's Foreign Press Association.} Biography Daughter of an Italian father and an Irish mother, Gastoni and her family moved to England in 1948.
