''Three Summer Days'' ( sr, Tri letnja dana, Три летња дана) is a 1997 Serbian drama film directed by Mirjana Vukomanović. The film deals with everyday life of Bosnian Serb refugees living and working in Serbia. Mirjana Vukomanović ( sr, Мирјана Вукомановић, , born December 9, 1967 in Trstenik) is a Serbian film, television and theater director who emerged in the 1990s as a significant figure in Serbian dramatic arts. She works in Serbia and the USA. She has won several awards, including several Fipresci /International Film Critics Association/ awards, and awards from the Yugoslav Chapter of the International Film Critics Association. Her movie ''Three Summer Days'' (''Tri letnja dana'', 1997) was the Yugoslav submission to the 70th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Serbia has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film under three different names since the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. Despite the name changes, all submitted films since 1994 have been Serbian productions. The Foreign Film Award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. , 28 Serbian films have been submitted for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but none of them have been accepted as nominees. In January 2008, it was announced that the acclaimed Serbian thriller '' The Trap'' had made the nine-film Oscar shortlist but it ultimately failed to make the final five. This is a list of submissions to the 70th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. Petar Kralj ( sr-cyr, Петар Краљ; 4 April 1941 – 10 November 2011) was a Serbian theater, film and television actor. Biography Kralj was born in Zagreb to a Serb family from Banija. During World War II his family fled to Syrmia, where he grew up. He graduated from a gymnasium in Novi Sad and studied acting at the University of Arts in Belgrade. He started his acting career at Atelje 212 theater. Kralj had appeared on stage about 3,000 times, and starred in over 200 films, TV series and TV films gaining huge popularity as one of the most recognizable Serbian actors. In December 2000, he was ranked eighth in the Serbian newspaper '' Večernje novosti'' in the "Best Serbian Actors and Actresses of the 20th Century" list.
