Three Mile Pilot
Three Mile Pilot (often shortened to 3MP) is an American indie rock band from San Diego, California, formed by Armistead Burwell Smith IV (a.k.a. Zach Smith) from Pinback, Systems Officer, Neighborhood Watch on bass and vocals, Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession, Dark Sarcasm, Mr. Tube) on vocals and guitar, and Tom Zinser (Neighborhood Watch (CV), Pinback) on drums. History 1991–2000 The group released their first album, ''Nà Vuccà Dò Lupù'' in 1991. It was recorded and mixed in three days, composed only of bass, vocals, and drums, and released on Cargo/Headhunter. Their next record, '' The Chief Assassin to the Sinister'', came out (also on Cargo/Headhunter) in 1993, with a vinyl version released by Negative Records and then later by Goldenrod Records. It was significantly darker and introduced Jenkins on guitar. Bear Creek Studio is a residential recording studio located in Woodinville, Washington, situated in a barn on a 10 acre farm. Sleeping People is an instrumental rock band from San Diego, California that formed in early 2002. They first started playing live at the end of that year as a trio consisting of Joileah Concepcion (guitar), Kasey Boekholt (guitar) and Brandon Relf (drums), with bassist Kenseth Thibideau joining the group in 2003. In 2005, the band released their self-titled debut album through Temporary Residence records. Around that same time, guitarist Concepcion left the band due to relocation, and her friend Amber Coffman replaced her on guitar. With Coffman, the band wrote and recorded three tracks that appeared on their second album, '' Growing''. In early 2007, Concepcion returned to her former position while Coffman departed to join the Dirty Projectors, and the original lineup resumed. The Casbah (US Music Venue)
The Casbah is a nightclub and music venue located near downtown San Diego, California. History The Casbah was first opened in 1989 by Tim Mays, Bob Bennett and Peter English at the site of a former Irish pub at 2812 Kettner Boulevard. The three men also owned the now-defunct Pink Panther Club. The Casbah hosted San Diego bands such as Rocket from the Crypt, Lucy's Fur Coat, Trumans Water, Three Mile Pilot, Creedle, Heavy Vegetable, Fluf, Inch, Crash Worship and Deadbolt. It also hosted bands such as Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins. English later left the venture. Because the original site had a maximum occupancy of 75 people, in 1994 the Casbah moved to a larger facility at 2501 Kettner Boulevard, the site of former club "Bulc". The Ur-Quan are a fictional race of predatory alien caterpillars in the '' Star Control'' series of video games, created by Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford. Introduced in 1990, the Ur-Quan are the primary antagonist of the first game, leading a galactic empire that seeks to enslave Earth. They reprise their role in ''Star Control II'', which expands on their history as former slaves who since vowed to fiercely defend themselves.
