Three Maxims
''Three Maxims'' is a 1936 British drama film directed by Herbert Wilcox and starring Anna Neagle, Tullio Carminati and Leslie Banks. It was released in the United States under the alternative title '' The Show Goes On''. Separate French and German language versions were filmed 1935 in Paris. The film's sets were designed by Wilcox's regular art director Lawrence P. Williams. Premise A love triangle causes major disruption to the harmony of a trapeze act. Herbert Wilcox
Herbert Sydney Wilcox Order of the British Empire, CBE (19 April 1890 – 15 May 1977) was a British film producer and film director, director. He was one of the most successful British filmmakers from the 1920s to the 1950s. He is best known for the films he made with his third wife Anna Neagle. Hans Philipp August Albers (22 September 1891 – 24 July 1960) was a German actor and singer. He was the biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1960 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. Early life Hans Albers was born in Hamburg, the son of a butcher, and grew up in the district of St. Georg. He was seriously interested in acting by his late teens and took acting classes without the knowledge of his parents. In 1915 Albers was drafted to serve in the German Army in World War I, but was wounded early on. ''Variety'' (German title: ''Varieté '') is a 1935 French-German drama film directed by Nicolas Farkas and starring Annabella, Hans Albers and Attila Hörbiger.Bock & Bergfelder p.8 It is based on the 1912 novel '' The Oath of Stephan Huller'' by Felix Hollaender. Annabella (born Suzanne Georgette Charpentier, 14 July 1907 – 18 September 1996) was a French cinema actress who appeared in 46 films between 1927 and 1952, including some Hollywood films during the late 1930s and 1940s. Laurence Hanray ( Lawrence Henry Jacobs; 16 May 1874 – 28 November 1947), sometimes credited as Lawrence Hanray, was a British film and theatre actor born in London, England. He is also credited as the author of several plays and music hall songs. Anthony Ireland (actor)
Anthony Ireland (4 February 1902 - 4 December 1957) was a British actor. He was born in Peru to British parents but by 1904 his family lived in Chile, where his brother Noel was born. In 1910 they moved to England and in the 1911 census they were shown as living in Bedford. Noel became an RAF pilot and was killed in a crash in 1931. Ireland made his stage debut in 1925, and appeared in the original London production of Patrick Hamilton's ''Rope'', in 1929.
