Thor The Conqueror
''Thor the Conqueror'' ( it, Thor il conquistatore) is a 1983 Italian film directed by Tonino Ricci. Story In the vein of CONAN THE BARBARIAN and Lucio Fulci's CONQUEST comes a tale of mythology and magic, of how THOR, a legendary god, triumphs over overwhelming odds to great victory and the destruction of his foes. After both his parents are brutally murdered by his father's rival Gnut and his men the new born Thor is placed in hiding by the physical embodiment of the god Teisha. Raised in secret under the guidance of Teisha, Thor comes to maturity and goes on a quest to avenge the death of his parents and return peace to his lands, in the process he discovers a woman to take as his wife. Taking the beautiful warrior virgin, Ina, as his companion, his exploits lead to a confrontation with Gnut, the slayer of his father. Tonino Ricci
Tonino Ricci (23 October 1927 – 9 March 2014), sometimes credited as Anthony Richmond, was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Ricci was born Teodoro Ricci in Rome on October 23, 1927. He began working in film as an assistant director in the early 1960s and is credited in such films as '' The Mercenaries'' (1961), '' Sword of the Conqueror'' (1961), and '' Superargo and the Faceless Giants'' (1968). He made his directorial debut with the 1969 war film '' Salt in the Wound''. Ricci died March 9, 2014, in Rome. Malisa Longo (born 13 July 1950) is an Italian actress, model and writer. Life and career Born Maria Luisa Longo in Venice, at young age Longo moved to Rome where she started a career as a model; she entered the Miss Italia beauty contest, winning the Miss Cinema and the Miss Lazio titles. Francesco De Masi (11 January 1930 – 6 November 2005) was an Italian conductor and film score composer. Biography He studied composition at the San Pietro a Maiella Conservatory in Naples under the guidance of Achille Longo, his uncle. De Masi became interested in film music when Longo was asked to compose a soundtrack for a film, and he asked De Masi to be his assistant. De Masi's filmography includes scores for over 200 films and TV series, ranging from Spaghetti Westerns and sword and sandal epics to gialli and horror films, such as Lucio Fulci's '' Lo squartatore di New York'' (''The New York Ripper''). De Masi also scored several action films, such as Enzo G. Castellari's ''Quel maledetto treno blindato'' (''The Inglorious Bastards''), but he is best remembered for his work on Spaghetti Westerns.
