Thomas Schlafly
Thomas Francis Schlafly (born October 28, 1948) is an American businessman and writer. He co-founded the Saint Louis Brewery, which produces the Schlafly line of beers. Schlafly is a graduate of the Saint Louis Priory School, and received his A.B. and J.D. from Georgetown University. In his capacity with the brewery, he writes a column every month, "Top Fermentation". In 2006, he published ''A New Religion in Mecca: Memoir of a Renegade Brewery in St. Louis'' (Virginia Publishing), which recounted the founding of the Saint Louis Brewery. He is also an attorney, working as a partner in the St. Louis office of Thompson Coburn. He is a nephew of St. Louis conservative commentator Phyllis Schlafly. Saint Louis Brewery
The Saint Louis Brewery, otherwise known as Schlafly Beer, is a craft brewery based in St. Louis, Missouri. As St. Louis’ largest independent craft brewery, Schlafly Beer brews more than 60 styles of beer. There are three brewpubs in which Schlafly Beer operates: the Schlafly Tap Room and Schlafly Bottleworks located in Maplewood, Missouri, and the Schlafly Bankside located in St Charles, Missouri, which opened in 2020. Phyllis Stewart Schlafly (; born Phyllis McAlpin Stewart; August 15, 1924 – September 5, 2016) was an American attorney, conservative activist, author, and anti-feminist spokesperson for the national conservative movement. She held paleoconservative social and political views, opposed feminism, gay rights and abortion, and successfully campaigned against ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. More than three million copies of her self-published book ''A Choice Not an Echo'' (1964), a polemic against Republican leader Nelson Rockefeller, were sold or distributed for free. Schlafly co-authored books on national defense and was critical of arms control agreements with the Soviet Union.
