Thomas Rogers (June 23, 1927 – April 1, 2007) was an American novelist. Life and career Born in Chicago, Illinois, Rogers graduated from Harvard University in 1950 before earning a master's degree and a PhD from the University of Iowa. He was twice nominated for the National Book Award for Fiction, for his first novel ''The Pursuit of Happiness'', which was adapted into a The Pursuit of Happiness (1971 film), 1971 film, and his second novel ''The Confessions of a Child of the Century by Samuel Heather'' (1972). His final two novels were both centered on the same protagonist. Before his retirement in 1992, he taught at Pennsylvania State University for three decades and lived in State College, Pennsylvania. Thomas Stewart Rogers (born 3 March 1994) is an Australian cricketer. He is a right-arm fast bowler. Rogers was in the Futures League for the ACT Comets from the 2013–14 season to the 2016–17 season. He was offered a contract for Tasmania for the 2017–18 season. He made his List A debut for Tasmania in the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup on 7 October 2017. In March 2018, Cricket Australia named Rogers in their Sheffield Shield team of the year. He made his Twenty20 debut for Hobart Hurricanes in the 2017–18 Big Bash League season on 30 December 2017. Thomas Rogers (1792–1856) was an American mechanical engineer and founder of Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works of Paterson, New Jersey. Fellow locomotive designer and builder, Zerah Colburn said that "Thomas Rogers maybe fairly said to have done more for the modern American locomotive than any of his contemporaries." Thomas R. Couch (May 14, 1961 – June 1, 2015) was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Tommy Rogers. He was one-half of the tag team The Fantastics with Bobby Fulton. Professional wrestling career Couch started wrestling in 1980 as "Tommy Rogers" in North Carolina. He made his debut (as a replacement for Charlie Cook) in a match with Eddy Mansfield with no formal training. Tommy then headed to Florida for a brief stay before heading to Portland, then Memphis where he met his future tag team partner Bobby Fulton. In a talent trade agreement between Memphis (Jarrett) and Mid South (Watts) the newly formed Fantastics (Rogers and Fulton) headed to Mid South. Tom Rogers (born 17 December 1998) is a Welsh international rugby union player. A wing or fullback, he plays rugby for the Scarlets. Rogers made his international debut on 3 July 2021, against Canada, and also represented Wales U20. Club career Rogers attended Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth, and came through the ranks at local club Cefneithin RFC before transferring to nearby Tumble RFC for youth rugby from where he was picked up by Scarlets academy. Rogers made his senior rugby debut with Tumble RFC before transferring to Llanelli RFC semi-pros. Rogers' first appearance for the Scarlets came on 12 November 2017 against Exeter in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Thomas Tinsley Rogers (August 26, 1910 – June 16, 1990) was an American football player and coach of football and baseball. He served as the head football coach at Wake Forest University from 1951 to 1955, compiling a record of 21–25–4. He was also the head baseball coach at Clemson University from 1941 to 1942, tallying a mark of 18–14. Born in 1910 and a native of Hinton, West Virginia, Rogers played college football as an end at Duke University under Wallace Wade from 1931 to 1933. He served as an assistant football coach at Wake Forest from 1938 to 1940 and at Clemson University in 1941 and 1942. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, Rogers returned to Wake Forest as an assistant coach in 1946. He succeeded Peahead Walker as head coach there in 1951.
