Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 1st Baronet (Before 1605 – 8 January 1646) was a Scottish lawyer, landowner, commissioner for Stirlingshire, and postmaster. Early life He was the son of John Nicolson of Lasswade (d. 1605) and Elizabeth (née Henderson) Nicolson. His father was a practising advocate at Edinburgh. His elder brother was Sir John Nicolson of Lasswade (grandfather of Sir John Nicolson, 2nd Baronet), was created a baronet in 1629 and died in 1651. His paternal grandparents were James Nicolson (the Burgess (title), Burgess of Edinburgh and of Sheriff of Aberdeen, Sheriff Clerk of Aberdeen) and Janet (née Swinton) Nicolson and his maternal grandparents were Edward Henderson (son of Clan Henderson, George Henderson, 2nd of Fordell Castle, Fordell) and Helen (née Swinton) Henderson. Thomas Nicolson (bishop)
Thomas Joseph Nicolson (1645–1718) was a Roman Catholic bishop who served as the Vicar Apostolic of Scotland. Life He was born the son of Thomas Nicolsone, merchant, and his wife, Elizabeth Abercrombie of Birkenbog. His older brother was Sir George Nicolson, Lord Kemnay. Born in Birkenbog, Banffshire in 1645, he was converted to the Roman Catholic Church in 1682. He was ordained a priest on 9 March 1686. He was appointed the Vicar Apostolic of Scotland and Titular Bishop of '' Peristasis'' by the Holy See on 7 September 1694. He was consecrated to the Episcopate in Paris on 27 February 1695. Thomas Nicholson of Carnock, 4th Lord Napier (14 January 1669 – 9 June 1688) was a Scottish peer. Family Thomas Nicholson of Carnock was the son of Jean Napier (sister to Archibald Napier, 3rd Lord Napier) and her husband Sir Thomas Nicolson, 3rd Baronet of Carnock (1649–1670). The Nicolson Baronetage, of Carnock, passed to him at the death of his father in 1670. He also received the title Lord Napier through his mother, upon the death of his uncle the 3rd Lord Napier in 1683. He died in 1688, unmarried and childless. Thomas Nicholson (architect)
Thomas Nicholson (1823–1895) was a British architect. He is known for designing the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Forden, Powys in Wales. Among his other Welsh churches were St James, Swansea and St Gabriel, Swansea. Career Nicholson became the Hereford Diocese Architect and was working in St Peter's Street, Hereford in 1865. He had an extensive practice in the Welsh Marches. In 1855 he extended the church at Stoke Prior started by Thomas Duckham. He was involved together with Stephen W Williams in laying out the new town at Llandrindod Wells. Nicholson laid out the 'Pump House' Estate portion of the development. Tom Nicolson
Thomas Rae Nicolson (3 October 1879 – 18 April 1951) from Tighnabruaich was a British track and field athlete who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics and in the 1920 Summer Olympics.
