Thomas M. Herbert
Thomas Morgan Herbert (December 1, 1927 – February 23, 2014) was a Republican lawyer from Ohio who was elected twice to the Ohio Supreme Court, succeeding his father in the seat. Background Thomas Herbert was born at Columbus, Ohio on December 1, 1927, to Paul Morgan & Ruby Thomas Herbert. His father had been a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, and was in the Ohio Senate. He would later be Ohio Lieutenant Governor, and sit on the Ohio Supreme Court. Thomas Herbert graduated with a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in 1950. He entered the United States Air Force in 1951, earned his wings in 1952, and flew 260 hours of combat in B-29s as a navigator during the Korean War, earning an Air Medal with cluster. Ohio District Courts Of Appeals
The Ohio District Courts of Appeals are the intermediate appellate courts of the U.S. state of Ohio. The Ohio Constitution provides for courts of appeals that have jurisdiction to review final appealable orders. There are twelve appellate districts, each consisting of at least one county, and the number of judges in each district varies from four to twelve. Each case is heard by a three-judge panel. There are currently 69 courts of appeals judges as provided by statute. A court of appeals judge is an elected position, with a term of six years. Jim Rhodes
James Allen Rhodes (September 13, 1909 – March 4, 2001) was an American Republican politician who served as Governor of Ohio from 1963 to 1971 and again from 1975 to 1983. , Rhodes was one of only seven U.S. governors to serve four four-year terms in office. Rhodes is tied for the sixth-longest gubernatorial tenure in post-Constitutional U.S. history at 5,840 days. He also served as Mayor of Columbus from 1944 to 1952 and Ohio State Auditor from 1953 to 1963. On May 3, 1970, Rhodes sent National Guard troops onto the Kent State University campus at the request of Kent, Ohio mayor LeRoy Satrom after the ROTC building was burned down by unknown arsonists the previous night.
