Thomas Kurzhals (13 December 1953 – 2 January 2014) was a German keyboardist, composer and rock musician, best known as a member of the bands Stern-Combo Meißen and Karat. Stern-Combo Meißen
Stern Meißen (formerly Stern Combo Meißen or Stern Combo Meissen) is a German rock band founded in 1964 in Meißen, East Germany. History The group was formed by Martin Schreier, Norbert Jäger and Bernd Fiedler in 1964 in Meißen, East Germany as "Stern-Combo Meißen". At the time, the group toured around their native Germany playing covers of Beatles, Rolling Stones and Kinks songs. In the early 70's, upon the arrival of Thomas Kurzhals (keyboardist) and Reinard Fißler (vocals), the classic lineup had formed and took off musically, thus becoming one of the up-and-coming rock groups in East Germany. In 1975, the group appeared in a scene of a movie called Hostess, performing alongside singer Nina Hagen. Cirrhosis
Cirrhosis, also known as liver cirrhosis or hepatic cirrhosis, and end-stage liver disease, is the impaired liver function caused by the formation of scar tissue known as fibrosis due to damage caused by liver disease. Damage causes tissue repair and subsequent formation of scar tissue, which over time can replace normal functioning tissue, leading to the impaired liver function of cirrhosis. The disease typically develops slowly over months or years. Early symptoms may include tiredness, weakness, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, nausea and vomiting, and discomfort in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. As the disease worsens, symptoms may include itchiness, swelling in the lower legs, fluid build-up in the abdomen, jaundice, bruising easily, and the development of spider-like blood vessels in the skin. Karat (band)
Karat ( Ger. for " carat") is a German rock band, founded in 1975 in East Berlin, then part of the German Democratic Republic, or East Germany. Karat also gained a strong following in West Germany when its 1982 album ''Der blaue Planet'' (''The Blue Planet'') was one of the year's top sellers in both East and West Germany, making Karat one of the more prominent bands in German-language rock music.
