Thomas Twisden Hodges
Thomas Twisden Hodges (29 August 1809 – 12 March 1865) was an English Liberal Party politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1835 and 1852. Hodges was the son of Thomas Law Hodges of Hemsted Park, MP for West Kent, and his wife Rebecca Twisden, daughter of Sir Roger Twisden. Hodges was elected at the 1835 general election as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the borough of Rochester, but did not stand again in 1837. He unsuccessfully contested a by-election in 1842 for the borough of Canterbury, winning only 17 votes out of 1417. He was returned for Rochester at the 1847 general election, and held the seat until he stood down in 1852. Hodges was a major in the West Kent Militia. In 1856 Hodges was living at St Hilda's when he was declared insolvent. Hodges married firstly, Mary Ann Floretta Chandless. Thomas Law Hodges (1776 – 14 May 1857) was an English Whig Party politician who sat in the House of Commons variously between 1830 and 1852. Hodges was the son of Thomas Hallet Hodges of Hemsted Park in Kent and his wife Dorothy Cartwright, daughter of William Cartwright of Marnham Hall Nottinghamshire. He was a Deputy Lieutenant for Kent, a J.P. for Kent and Sussex and chairman of the quarter sessions. He was a major in the West Kent Militia. At the 1830 general election, Hodges was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Kent. He was re-elected in 1831, and held the seat until it was divided under the Great Reform Act in 1832. At the 1832 general election he was elected as an MP for West Kent, holding that seat until 1841, when two Conservative Party candidates were elected unopposed. Thomas Hodges (born June 25, 1993) is a British-American life insurance salesman and amateur ice hockey player. He appeared for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL) in the team's final game of the 2021–22 season as an emergency goaltender following injuries to both John Gibson and Anthony Stolarz. Early life Hodges was born in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom, but emigrated to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and grew up playing youth ice hockey. Hodges was forced to abandon his aspirations of playing in the National Hockey League after taking an errant puck to the head at age 12, which caused him a decrease of vision in his left eye. He later attended Southern Methodist University and played club hockey there despite his injury, and later became a goalie coach of the Allen Americans of the ECHL. Life Hodges was born in the South London suburb of Woolwich. His father was an amateur photographer and he developed an early interest in photography. Hodges has travelled throughout Europe, spending many years living in France and moving to Italy in 2007, where he currently resides. He has also lived throughout East and Southeast Asia, residing in Malaysia, Hong Kong and China. Career Hodges worked in the investment banking industry in development finance for sustainable and socially responsible projects. In 1984, he started working as a part-time photographer, shooting back-stage during major fashion shows. From 1995 to 2000, while residing in Malaysia, he stopped photography completely. Bush to succeed Thurgood Marshall and has served since 1991. After Marshall, Thomas is the second African American to serve on the Court and its longest-serving member since Anthony Kennedy's retirement in 2018. Thomas was born in Pin Point, Georgia.
