Thomas Hettche (born 30 November 1964 in Treis, Hesse) is a German author. Hettche completed his ''Abitur'' at the Liebigschule Giessen, He studied German studies and philosophy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and completed his PhD in philosophy. PEN Centre Germany is part of the worldwide association of writers founded in London in 1921, now known as PEN International. One of over 140 autonomous PEN centres around the world, PEN Centre Germany is based in Darmstadt, Hesse. The Academy of Arts (german: Akademie der Künste) is a state arts institution in Berlin, Germany. The task of the Academy is to promote art, as well as to advise and support the states of Germany.
