Thomas Godoj
Tomasz Jacek Godoj (born 6 March 1978) is a Polish-German rock-pop singer and songwriter. He was the winner of the fifth season of ''Deutschland sucht den Superstar'' (2008), the German version of ''Pop Idol''. Early life Godoj was born on 6 March 1978 in Rybnik, Poland to Danuta and Eugen Godoj. In 1988, along with his parents and his sister Hannah, he moved to Recklinghausen. Godoj then attended a secondary school and passed his specialty graduation examination for a career as a draftsman. He attended the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, specializing in civil engineering. During his studies, Godoj became interested in music and played with local bands such as Cure of Souls, Fluxkompensator, Tonk!, and WINK. Rybnik
Rybnik (Polish pronunciation: ; szl, Rybńik) is a city in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, around 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Katowice, the region's capital, and around 19 km (11 miles) from the Czech border. Mark Leon Medlock (born 9 July 1978) is a German singer and the winner of the season 4 of '' Deutschland sucht den Superstar'' (DSDS), the German version of ''Pop Idol''. Early life Medlock is the elder of two siblings, born to an African-American father from Georgia, Larry Medlock, and a German mother, Monika, in Frankfurt am Main. Mark and his brother Larry were raised in a semi-poor home in the Lohwaldsiedlung neighborhood of Offenbach am Main during their formative years, before eventually moving to the Lauterborn neighborhood in 1997. At the age of 6, Medlock began singing gospel, widely influenced by his father and soul singers such as James Brown and Barry White. At the end of the 1990s, his mother fell sick with cancer.
