Thomas Forman (reformer)
Thomas Forman (also referred to as ''Robert Forman'' and sometimes spelled ''Farman''; ), was an early English reformer who served as the rector of All Hallows, Honey Lane and also as President of Queens' College, Cambridge. He is chiefly remembered for distributing heretical books before the English Reformation with his curate Thomas Gerrard. Life Forman received his B.A. degree in 1511 and in 1514 he was elected as a Fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge. He took his Doctorate in Divinity in 1524 and in 1525 he was elected as President of the college and also became the rector of one of the wealthiest parishes in London, All Hallows Honey Lane. Forman was staunch adherent of the Reformation and distributed the books of Luther and Tyndale from London booksellers to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and elsewhere when they were proscribed in England. All Hallows, Honey Lane
All Hallows, Honey Lane was a parish church in the City of London, England. Of medieval origin, it was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and not rebuilt; the site became part of Honey Lane Market, which was in turn partially cleared to make way for the City of London School in the 19th century. Much of the area was destroyed during the bombing in World War II and has been redeveloped. The name ''Honey Lane'' is retained in a nearby walkway. Random House
Random House is an American book publisher and the largest general-interest paperback publisher in the world. The company has several independently managed subsidiaries around the world. It is part of Penguin Random House, which is owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann. History Random House was founded in 1927 by Bennett Cerf and Donald Klopfer, two years after they acquired the Modern Library imprint from publisher Horace Liveright, which reprints classic works of literature. William Franklyn (priest)
William Franklyn (1460–1556) was an English churchman, who became dean of Windsor. Life Franklyn was born at Bledlow, Buckinghamshire, probably about 1460, and educated at Eton College and King's College, Cambridge, where he graduated B.C.L. in 1504. He took holy orders, and in 1514 was appointed chancellor of the diocese of Durham and receiver of the bishop's revenues. In 1515 he became archdeacon of Durham and master of the Hospital of St. Giles at Kepyer, County Durham. In this and the following years Franklyn was active in directing measures in border warfare with the Scotch. His headquarters was at Norham, and it was probably about this period that a grant of arms was made him in consideration of the recovery of the castle at that place by his prowess and policy.
