Thomas Edwards (author)
Thomas Edwards (Caerfallwch, 1779–1858), was a Welsh writer and lexicographer born in Northop, Flintshire, Wales. He wrote an ''Analysis of Welsh Orthography'' and an ''English and Welsh Dictionary''. Life and writings At the age of 14, Edwards was apprenticed to a saddler named Birch, in whose family he cultivated his taste for Welsh-language literature. He married in 1801 or 1802. He moved to London and became a secretary to Nathaniel M. Rothschild. In 1838, Edwards was appointed with five others to improve Welsh orthography, in connection with the Abergavenny Eisteddfod. In 1845 he published his ''Analysis of Welsh Orthography''. For many years he was a member of the ''Cymmrodorion'' and delivered several lectures there. One of them, entitled "Currency", later appeared in print. In addition, he was a frequent contributor to Welsh magazines. Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Typically deployed in symmetric pairs, an individual bracket may be identified as a 'left' or 'right' bracket or, alternatively, an "opening bracket" or "closing bracket", respectively, depending on the Writing system#Directionality, directionality of the context. Specific forms of the mark include parentheses (also called "rounded brackets"), square brackets, curly brackets (also called 'braces'), and angle brackets (also called 'chevrons'), as well as various less common pairs of symbols. As well as signifying the overall class of punctuation, the word "bracket" is commonly used to refer to a specific form of bracket, which varies from region to region.
