Tom Carr (artist)
Tom Carr (born 8 January 1956) is a sculptor who works in Spain. Biography Carr was born in Tarragona, Spain, but spent his teenage years in the USA. His first solo exhibition in the USA was in 1989 at the Jan Baum Gallery in Los Angeles. His painted wood sculptures included a 12-feet high, walk-in installation entitled ""Wall with Passageway". Tom Carr (born 16 June 1978) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and the Port Adelaide Magpies in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Initially from Cummins Kapinnie Football Club on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, Carr played for Port Adelaide in the SANFL before his selection as a zone recruitment by Port Adelaide when they entered the AFL. Son Goku was a German rock band who played a mix of hardcore punk, alternative, reggae, and electronic sounds. The band was named after the Son Goku character in the ''Dragon Ball'' series. Son Goku's first and only album, ''Crashkurs'' (Crash course), was released in 2002 and reached a peak position of 15 on the Media Control Charts. The group has since disbanded due to "dissension" amongst the members. History Origins Son Goku was a side project of Thomas D of Die Fantastischen Vier. The band originated from the M.A.R.S. (Moderne Anstalt Rigoroser Spakker, or ''Modern Institute of Adamant Spakkers''), a commune of artists and musicians founded by Thomas D in 1998. Thomas Carr (paleontologist)
Thomas D. Carr is a vertebrate paleontologist who received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2005. He is now a member of the biology faculty at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Much of his work centers on tyrannosauroid dinosaurs. Carr published the first quantitative analysis of tyrannosaurid ontogeny in 1999, establishing that several previously recognized genera and species of tyrannosaurids were in fact juveniles of other recognized taxa. Carr shared the Lanzendorf Prize for scientific illustration at the 2000 Society of Vertebrate Paleontology conference for the artwork in this article. In 2005, he and two colleagues described and named '' Appalachiosaurus'', a late-surviving basal tyrannosauroid found in Alabama. Tommy Carr (Gaelic Footballer)
Tommy Carr is an Irish strength and conditioning coach and former Gaelic footballer who played for the Dublin county team. He later became involved in coaching and media work. Playing career Carr received an All Star in 1991 in the same year that he won a National Football League medal with Dublin. He won his second league medal with Dublin in 1993. Managerial career Carr was the Dublin manager between 1997 and 2001, a period that proved an unsuccessful period for Dublin. During this era the current Dublin manager, Dessie Farrell, was the captain of the Dublin football team until Carr was replaced by Tommy Lyons. Carr was an advisor to the Wexford senior football team "on physical fitness and mental attitude matters" in 2002 under the management of Ger Halligan. Thomas James Carr (21 September 1909 – 17 February 1999) was an Irish artist who was associated with the Euston Road School in the 1930s and had a long career as a painter of domestic scenes and landscapes. Biography Carr was born in Belfast to a well-to-do family and attended Oundle School where his art masters included E.M.O'R. Dickey and Christopher Perkins. In 1927 Carr moved to London where he studied at the Slade School of Art. After two years at the Slade, Carr moved to Italy and spent a year in Settignano near Florence. Upon returning to London, Carr established himself as a well-regarded painter of domestic scenes. Although essentially a realist painter, Carr was included in the 1934 ''Objective Abstractionists'' exhibition at Zwemmer's Gallery. Thomas Carr (1788 – 5 September 1859) was the inaugural Bishop of Bombay between 1837 and 1851. Early life and career The son of Thomas Carr and Catherine Wilkinson, Carr was born in 1788. He was educated at St John's College, Cambridge, matriculating in 1809, graduating B.A. in 1813, and receiving the Lambeth degree of D.D. in 1831.
