Thomas C. Alexander
Thomas C. Alexander (born July 25, 1956) is an American businessman who is currently serving as the President of the South Carolina Senate. He serves in the senate as a Republican from the 1st District. Alexander served as an honorary chair of the 2023 Inauguration Committee for Governor Henry McMaster. S.C. General Assembly Alexander was first elected as a Democrat to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1986. He was elected to the South Carolina Senate in 1994 also as a Democrat. He switched parties in 1996. Alexander currently chairs the Senate Interstate Cooperation and the Legislative Oversight Committees. He serves on the Senate Banking and Insurance, Ethics, Finance, Medical Affairs, and Labor, Commerce and Industry Committees.He has previously chaired the Senate Labor, Commerce and Industry committee. Walhalla is a city in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Oconee County, South Carolina, United States. Designated in 1868 as the county seat, it lies within the area of the Blue Ridge Escarpment, an area of transition between mountains and piedmont, and contains numerous waterfalls. The South Carolina Senate is the upper house of the South Carolina General Assembly, the lower house being the South Carolina House of Representatives.
