Thomas Burton was one of two Members of the Parliament of England for the constituency of York on two occasions between 1529–1533 and from 1533–1536 Life and politics The early years of Thomas' life are not recorded. Stephen Longstreet (April 18, 1907 – February 20, 2002) was an American writer and artist. Biography Born Chauncey (later Henri) Weiner (sometimes Wiener), he was known as Stephen Longstreet from 1939. He wrote as Paul Haggard, David Ormsbee and Thomas Burton, and Longstreet, as well as his birth name. The 1948 Broadway musical ''High Button Shoes'' was based on Longstreet's semi-autobiographical 1946 novel, ''The Sisters Liked Them Handsome''. Thomas DeCarlo Callaway - Burton (born May 30, 1975), known professionally as CeeLo Green (or Cee Lo Green), is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor. He is known for his work in hip hop and R&B, including the Gnarls Barkley single "Crazy" and his solo single " Fuck You". Tommie Burton
William Thomas Burton (31 January 1878 – 22 August 1946) was a coloured West Indian first-class cricketer best known as a member of the 1900 and 1906 West Indian tourists to England. He is generally known as Tommie Burton. Career He was the son of a black mother and a white father. He was brought up in Barbados and served for some years there as a practice bowler and in trial matches. Realising that his colour and roots would severely limit his opportunities in Barbados he emigrated to British Guiana in 1899 where there were more chances for coloured cricketers. Even in British Guiana his role as a practice bowler resulted in him being classed as a Professional and hence excluded from the Inter-Colonial Tournament. He sufficiently impressed in British Guiana to be selected for the 1900 tour to England even though he had not played a single important match. Thomas Burton Hanly
Thomas Burton Hanly (June 9, 1812 – June 9, 1880) was an Arkansas lawyer and politician who served in the Congress of the Confederate States during the American Civil War. Hanly was born in Lexington, Kentucky. He went to Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky to study law and graduated in 1834. He later moved to Helena, Arkansas to practice law. Hanly served in the Arkansas House of Representatives and the Arkansas State Senate. He also served as a state court judge and on the Arkansas Supreme Court. He was elected to represent Arkansas in the First Confederate Congress and the Second Confederate Congress. Hanly died in Helena, Arkansas.
