Thomas Burrows
Thomas E. Burrows (born September 14, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. The Seattle Mariners selected Burrows in the fourth round, with the 117th overall selection, of the 2016 MLB draft. Career Burrows attended Mars Hill Bible School in Florence, Alabama. As a pitcher for the school's baseball team, he was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association Super All-State team in 2012 and 2013. He enrolled at the University of Alabama, where he played college baseball for the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball, Alabama Crimson Tide. He was named a Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and ''Collegiate Baseball Newspaper'' in 2014. Pitcher
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. Collegiate Summer Baseball
Collegiate summer baseball leagues are amateur baseball leagues in the United States and Canada featuring players who have attended at least one year of college and have at least one year of athletic eligibility remaining. Generally, they operate from early June to early August. In contrast to college baseball, which allow aluminum or other composite baseball bats, players in these leagues use only wooden bats, hence the common nickname of these leagues as "wood-bat leagues". Collegiate summer leagues allow college baseball players the ability to compete using professional rules and equipment, giving them experience and allowing professional scouts the opportunity to observe players under such conditions. Class A-Advanced
High-A (officially Class High-A, formerly known as Class A-Advanced, and sometimes abbreviated "A+" in writing) is the third-highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States and Canada, below Triple-A and Double-A, and above Single-A. Florida Fire Frogs
The Florida Fire Frogs were a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League from 2017 to 2020. They were located in North Port, Florida, and served as the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Founded in 2017, the Fire Frogs played their home games at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida, part of the Greater Orlando metropolitan area, through 2019. Shae Austin Simmons (born September 3, 1990) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners. Career Simmons attended Scott City High School in Scott City, Missouri and Southeast Missouri State University, where he played college baseball. Mallex Smith
Mallex Lydell Smith (born May 6, 1993) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves in 2016, Tampa Bay Rays from 2017 to 2018, and Seattle Mariners from 2019 to 2020. The Northwest League is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the Pacific Northwest, Northwestern United States and Western Canada. A Class A Short Season league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues.
