Thomas Bonnevie
Thomas Bonnevie (12 September 1879 – 19 May 1960) was a Norwegian Supreme Court justice. Biography Bonnevie was born at Trondheim, Norway. He was a son of Member of Parliament and cabinet minister Jacob Aall Bonnevie (1838–1904) and Anne Johanne Daae (1839–1876). He was also the brother of professor Kristine Bonnevie (1872–1948) and jurist Carl Bonnevie (1881-1972). His sister Sofie Honoria Bonnevie (1864–1928), married Norwegian physicist and meteorologist Vilhelm Bjerknes. Bonnevie was married to Margarete Bonnevie, who was President of the Norwegian Association for Women's Rights; he was also himself a member of the association. Thomas Bonnevie earned the cand.jur. degree in 1902 at the Royal Frederick University, and became a barrister (with the right to appear before the Supreme Court) in 1910. Supreme Court Of Norway
The Supreme Court of Norway (Norwegian Bokmål: ''(Norges) Høyesterett''; Norwegian Nynorsk: ''(Noregs) Høgsterett''; lit. ‘Highest Court’) was established in 1815 on the basis of section 88 in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Norway, which prescribes an independent judiciary. It is located in the capital Oslo. In addition to serving as the court of final appeal for civil and criminal cases, it can also rule whether the Cabinet has acted in accordance with Norwegian law and whether the Parliament has passed legislation consistent with the Constitution. Appointment process Section 21 of the Norwegian Constitution grants the King of Norway sole authority to appoint judges to the Supreme Court. Frogner Park
Frogner Park ( no, Frognerparken) is a public park located in the West End borough of Frogner in Oslo, Norway. The park is historically part of Frogner Manor, and the manor house is located in the south of the park, and houses Oslo Museum. Both the park, the entire borough of Frogner as well as Frognerseteren derive their names from Frogner Manor. Frogner Park contains, in its present centre, the ''Vigeland installation'' ( no, Vigelandsanlegget; originally called the ''Tørtberg installation''), a permanent sculpture installation created by Gustav Vigeland between 1924 and 1943. It consists of sculptures as well as larger structures such as bridges and fountains. The installation is not a separate park, but the name of the sculptures within the larger Frogner Park. Gustav Vigeland
Gustav Vigeland (11 April 1869 – 12 March 1943), born as Adolf Gustav Thorsen, was a Norwegian sculptor. Gustav Vigeland occupies a special position among Norwegian sculptors, both in the power of his creative imagination and in his productivity. He is most associated with the Vigeland installation (''Vigelandsanlegget'') in Frogner Park, Oslo. He was also the designer of the Nobel Peace Prize medal. Early life Adolf Gustav Thorsen was born to a family of craftsmen, just outside Halse og Harkmark, a former municipality in Mandal. His parents were Elesæus Thorsen (1835–1886), a cabinetmaker and Anne Aanensdatter (1835–1907). He had three brothers, of whom Emanuel Vigeland (originally Thorsen) became a noted artist.
