Thomas Beller
Thomas Beller (born May 23, 1965) is an American literature, American author and editing, editor. Early life Born and raised in New York City, Beller has remained a resident of his native city, which often features in his stories. He is the son of documentary filmmaker Hava Kohav Beller. After attending Saint Ann's School (Brooklyn), Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn, New York, he received his BA from Vassar College, and his MFA from Columbia University Writing Program. Career While still studying for his MFA, ''The New Yorker'' published Beller's short story "A Different Kind of Imperfection", which was chosen for the ''Best American Short Stories'' volume of 1992. Since, his work has appeared in such publications as ''The New York Times'', ''ELLE'', ''Spin (magazine), Spin'', ''Vogue (magazine), Vogue'', ''Slate (magazine), Slate'', and ''The Village Voice''. ''The Cambodia Daily'' is an English and Khmer language news site that writes and aggregates news about Cambodia. It was originally an English-language daily newspaper based in Cambodia from 1993 to 2017, and was considered a newspaper of record for Cambodia. According to the owners, the 2017 closure was the result of a dispute with the Cambodian government over a US$6.3 million tax bill, which was disputed by the newspaper's ownership as politically motivated. The newspaper ceased its daily print newspaper, but still maintains a small online presence, and is no longer located in Cambodia. In 2017, the Cambodian government ordered ISP's to block ''The Cambodia Daily'''s website from within Cambodia.
